AQSG PAPER SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

- Authors must be members of American Quilt Study Group to submit a manuscript to be considered for inclusion in Uncoverings and to present their paper at seminar.
- Topics should relate to quilts, quiltmaking, quiltmakers, the textiles and materials of quilts, or a closely related subject.
- The manuscript should be the result of the author's own original research. It must be published for the first time in the related volume of Uncoverings.
- The manuscript should be 4,500 – 9,000 words in length, including notes. It should be prepared according to the Manuscript Guidelines.
- Authors whose papers are accepted must be able to attend the entire Seminar and present their papers. They must also be able to work with the editor during February, March, and April of the publication year to complete any necessary revisions in time to meet the publishing deadline.
- Be prepared to submit high-quality originals of illustrations within 2 months if your paper is accepted.
- A committee of quilt researchers will blind review the manuscripts in accordance with guidelines. Authors whose papers are not accepted will receive a summary of reviewers' comments and an unmarked copy of their manuscript. Other review copies will be destroyed.
- If you wish to receive comments on your work prior to submission, the AQSG office can refer you to an experienced researcher. If you have any questions regarding these submission guidelines or the enclosed manuscript guidelines, please contact the AQSG office.
- Mail the following to: American Quilt Study Group, 1610 L Street Lincoln, NE 68508-2509
- 1 cover sheet with your paper title and your name, address, phone number, and any other contact information (fax, e-mail, etc.).
- 7 copies of the abstract and completed paper.
- Please secure each copy of abstract and paper by stapling or adding a cover, etc., so that no pages are loose.
- 7 photocopied sets of possible illustrations for publication, if appropriate.
- Submissions must be postmarked no later than July 1st.
- Submissions by fax or e-mail are not accepted.
