Friends of the Needle is made up of AQSG members who hope to create a greater awareness of the importance of hand quilting in antique and vintage quilts.  We want to encourage and assist scholars, researchers, museum professionals and anyone writing about quilts to include more in-depth documentation, greater detailed descriptions and better photography of the quilting in these vintage textiles. We have developed a documentation form exclusively for quilting, a bibliography of texts focusing on hand quilting and guidelines for photography (see links below). The group is open to any member who shares this interest.
